Leeds United fans have been discussing manager Marcelo Bielsa on Twitter.
This comes after Leeds journalist Phil Hay shared a post on his official Twitter page that included a column from The Athletic on Bielsa’s recent press conference.
In the post, Hay revealed that he had learnt two things about the Argentine from his press conference, the first being that he is “fully aware of the issues being debated around him” and that he will not be “backing down” regarding his philosophy.
Do you support Marcelo Bielsa?
Yes
No
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Leeds fans who were eager to share their opinions on their team’s manager.
Here’s a sample of Leeds fans discussing Bielsa:
An LUFC column looking at Bielsa’s press conference yesterday, which told us two things. Firstly that he’s fully aware of the issues being debated around him. And secondly, in terms of philosophy, he’s not backing down.

I am completely behind him, his methods, style, philosophy and approach is absolutely not the issue. I just hope the social media criticism isn’t taken too much to heart by him or the team, it is damaging us.

Best we’ve had for a very long time.

Leeds are currently second in the Championship table, just one point behind leader West Bromwich Albion, but after a run of poor results, they now find themselves only three points ahead of third-place Fulham (per BBC Sport). Now that Hay has reported that Bielsa will stick to his philosophy on the pitch whilst being aware of the criticism he has faced off the pitch, this has lit the fuse for some Leeds fans to come together and rally behind their manager.
Nor should he. He is the best we have had in decades. We need to sit back, try to enjoy it and let the team do their thing with our 100% backing. If we don’t go up so be it but we need to back this team and especially this manager to the death to give us the best chance….

Too right. Very few of us are any where near qualified enough to question him. He’s an absolute legend throughout the game and we have to put faith in him. If it doesn’t work, he’s gone anyway-then say what you want. Just hope the vocal doubters don’t drive him away too soon

Really worried about the fans reaction towards Bielsa and the team after poor results. Does anyone else fear he might walk out over it ?

All the ones who dont believe in Bielsas way deserve managers like Heckingbottom, Evans, Milanic etc…. No way we can get a better manager than Bielsa. Hes not perfect, hes only human but if you think this team would be as high as we are without him you’re deluded.

What do we think?
It’s good to see this many Leeds fans willing to get behind their manager despite dropping points in their last few matches. If the team can limit the number of points dropped from now until the end of the season, promotion to the Premier League could be a serious prospect for Bielsa’s side.
