A lot of Leeds United fans have reacted to Marcelo Bielsa’s comments on Adam Forshaw.
On Wednesday, it was confirmed that the 28-year-old would be undergoing surgery to fix a hip problem and would therefore miss the rest of the season.
Do you agree with Bielsa on Forshaw?
Yes
No
Bielsa, speaking at his press conference before his side take on Bristol City, said that if he had replaced Forshaw, then the player coming in would have had to be better than the former Middlesbrough man, and the Argentine thinks that this would have cost a lot of money.
This has received a mixed response from these Whites fans – as some believe that Bielsa was not given the money by the board to get a replacement.
Bielsa asked if he could or should have signed cover for Forshaw: "I would like to be able to count on Forshaw. When we think about bringing in a different player, he has to be better – and that means better in every sense. Someone who is ready now would mean a lot of money."

Exactly money is the issue

In other words we couldn’t afford to bring anyone in

Other Leeds supporters, though, feel that anyone could have replaced Forshaw, considering he has missed most of the season.
Better than a player who can’t play isn’t hard.

What do we think?
Forshaw, who is valued at £4.5m by Transfermarkt, made eight appearances this season but has not played since a 1-0 loss to Charlton Athletic in September.
This meant that Leeds could have made a move for someone in the January transfer window.
However, no one was brought in – so this leaves Leeds with just Kalvin Phillips, Mateusz Klich, and Jamie Shackleton as options at the centre of midfield.
