A lot of Leeds United fans have responded to a piece in the Yorkshire Evening Post about Patrick Bamford’s role in Marcelo Bielsa’s team and how Jean-Kevin Augustin is going to have a fight on his hands if he wants to be the starting striker.
The piece focuses on Bielsa’s loyalty to his players and has special mentions for Kiko Casilla and Bamford.
Who should start against Nottingham Forest?
Bamford
Augustin
The belief is that Casilla and Bamford will win more points than they cost throughout the season, and that is why Augustin will not be able to replace the former Middlesbrough striker.
This article has had a mixed response from many Leeds fans – with some believing that Bielsa is right to stick with Bamford.

Can’t agree with this. Saying you’ll pick players irrespective of form, simply because ‘you’re loyal’ breeds the complacency that we saw last year and this.
That’s where the arrogance of “We deserved to win” stems from, when they all spout it after a loss.

Not sure I agree. This says it all really ???? pic.twitter.com/6eHYJMD7dI

Not even Aguero or firmino could take bamfords shirt if Bielsa gets his way

Going into his 2nd season with bamford as the one & only striker is madness. Bamford tries his best but he will never be clinical enough up front. He will never be premiership quality. Leeds are gearing up off field for premiership so why not have a more equipped striker ????

What do we think?
This is a lovely piece of writing, and it makes a good point, but the Whites’ form is something that cannot be ignored.
The goal that Leeds conceded on Saturday was Casilla’s fault as he came out and flapped at a deflected corner that ended up in the net. (1:05)
Bamford, who is valued at £5.4m by Transfermarkt, then missed several chances, and stats have revealed that he has wasted the most ‘big chances’ in the league.
Loyalty is a valuable trait, but it could cost Leeds promotion.
