Some Celtic fans have been hailing the return of Hatem Abd Elhamed – something that Neil Lennon confirmed in a recent press conference.
Ahead of the Hoops’ Premiership game against Hearts, Lennon was talking to the press and provided some fresh updates. He revealed Abd Elhamed and Nir Bitton are back in training and no other players have picked any new injuries.
Is Elhamed the best defender at Celtic?
Without a doubt
No, Jullien is better
When the club’s social media team posted these comments on Twitter, it left many Hoops fans raving. They’re delighted to hear Lennon’s update about summer signing Abd Elhamed.
Get Hatem wrapped in cotton wool for Europa League and Sevco games. He can stay at home in front of the fire for the rest.

The Hoops signed Abd Elhamed this past summer from Israeli side Hapoel Be’er Sheva for a reported £1.6m fee. He penned a four-year-deal at Parkhead in June 2019.
He hasn’t played in the Premiership for the club since he played 11 minutes against Kilmarnock in September. He sustained a muscle injury in November and is yet to play in the league since.
The 28-year-old has made 13 appearances in all competitions for Celtic since joining, getting one assist and playing nine times at right-back.
What do we think?
It is certainly good news for the Hoops fans, considering how he can play at right-back as well as centre-back. Neil Lennon has recently been using a 3-5-2 shape and getting Abd Elhamed in may allow them to play that more often because of how versatile the defender is.
