Some Celtic fans have been fuming about the performance of defender Kristoffer Ajer in the club’s 4-1 win over Hamilton in the Premiership.
The Hoops made sure that they now have a seven-point lead at the top of the table. Rangers were held to a goalless draw by Aberdeen, handing Celtic a big advantage in their march towards another Premiership title.
Should Ajer play in midfield?
Yes, he's always been a midfielder
Nope, play him in the defence
But despite the win, some Celtic fans had some bad words to say for their defender Ajer and how he performed in the clash on Sunday. They made their opinions very clear.
Get a grip ajer

#celtic defence is shocking. Welsh developing well but Ajer and Julien very poor 1st half again

It’s coz he’s a centre mid. That’s what we signed him as so obviously still gets the notion to bomb through at times

Always think you know Ajer is going to be a liability before a baw is even kicked.

Great second half..but honestly Ajer needs put out the picture. He is rank rotten.

100% he got bullied today as did Ajer at times. In games like today he struggles and has also lost his discipline due to frustration when he gets out muscled. Great finish though and he kept at it.

Tell u what tho. Big Ajer worries me.
— Scott Doc (@scottdoc76) February 2, 2020
Thinks he is still a midfielder.

Ajer would get sent off for that. Its stupid to put your hands on the striker. I’d be more ragin at our defender.

Ajer has a terrible habit of doing the same thing. Was no other option for the ref

Celtic signed Ajer from Norwegian side Start in February 2016 but joined up with the squad in the following summer under the tutelage of Brendan Rodgers, arriving at the club on a free transfer.
So far this season, Ajer, who is valued at £2.7 million (as per Transfermarkt), has been a regular at the back for the Hoops. He has made 39 appearances in all competitions, with 22 of them coming in the Premiership. He has also racked up a tally of two goals and two assists for the club as well.
Last season, the Norwegian had made 45 appearances in all competitions for the club. He had one goal and one assist to his name and he also played at right-back three times last season.
What do we think?
Ajer had already admitted that he was a midfielder when he came to Parkhead. And maybe, as fans say, that could be his best position on the pitch.
