Some Celtic fans have been left to disagree with a tweet that concerns their summer signing and left-back Boli Bolingoli.

The left-back started against Clyde in the Scottish Cup recently, with Celtic picking up a 3-0 win away from home, setting up a quarter-final tie against St. Johnstone away from home, with the game taking place in late February or early March.

Is Bolingoli Celtic's best left-back?

Absolutely!

Absolutely!

A Hoops fan posted about Bolingoli, calling him a ‘comfortable fit’ for the club. But many Celtic fans disagreed and felt that he isn’t good enough.

Bolingoli joined Celtic in the summer from Austrian club Rapid Vienna. The same window saw the club rope in Greg Taylor from Kilmarnock, with the Scotland man signing a four-year deal at Parkhead.

Since joining, Bolingoli has made 27 appearances in all competitions for the side. He has made only 14 appearances in the Premiership, getting two assists. But his last appearance in the league came at the end of 2019 in the club’s 2-1 loss to Rangers in the Old Firm derby.

He had not even made the bench until he was named among the substitutes against Motherwell recently.

What do we think?

Bolingoli’s performances in the Europa League show that he needs to improve. As per Whoscored, he got a match rating of 7.91 against Cluj, but his ratings were lower than 7 in the other three group games he was involved in. It shows that while there might be a player in there, he may take time to prove that to the fans.
