This week Cardiff City fans have been discussing the news shared by Paul Abbandonato that the Bluebirds’ owner Vincent Tan has rejected two separate takeover bids.
According to Abbandonato’s article, two separate bids have been made for the side over the course of the last 12 months. The report believes that Tan rejected the bids because he felt that neither were in the best interest of Cardiff City.
Abbandonato relays that Tan is said to be focused on aiding Neil Harris in achieving a top-six finish by the end of the Championship’s regular season.
The size of the bids were not disclosed in the article.
The Wales Online reporter shared the article Twitter, claiming that he believes Tan is staying to finish the ‘major job’ that is still left to do at the club.
Here are a few reactions from Cardiff City fans regarding Abbandonato’s statement. Some think Tan is just holding out for a bigger offer, while one questions if a bid was even made at all.

obviously wants more money than was offered

Clearly? Or just greedy and those offers too low … one from a person he dislikes

An alternative view on this could be that there were no offers tabled and that this story from the club is an opening position in an attempt to solicit reasonable offers. Keep the fans onside by saying “serious offers have already been rebuffed”. Plausible.

Hopefully when meaningful offers come in they will dealt with in the same way as the latest transfers were done. The media didn’t see any of them coming-first we saw was when they were announced on SSN late on.Well done CCFC in keeping your cards close to your chest.!!

I wonder what Vincent Tan values the club at? I have to be fair, rebranding aside (a shocking error which I’ve never really forgotten or regain trust over) he’s managed the club well. Reducing the debt, and making us more substainable.

Why hasn't Vincent Tan accepted any bids for Cardiff City?
There's a job to do
No official bids made
Bids were too small
What do we think?
Only Tan knows when the right time for him to sell will be personally. Until then, Cardiff City fans will just hope that he continues to focus on helping their side fight for promotion back into the Premier League.
