Some Birmingham City fans have been commending the deal to bring Jérémie Bela to St. Andrew’s on a free transfer, following the impressive run of form that the French-born attacker has been enjoying since arriving at the club.
The Blues’ official Twitter account recently made a post lauding the impressive contributions of Bela since joining Birmingham City in November on a free transfer. The Blues’ tweet stated that the free signing “has been directly involved in 10 goals since his arrival”.

What do we think?
As he only arrived at the club in November, Bela missed the first three months of the Championship season. However, despite that, the French attacker has made a total of five assists in the Championship in his 19 appearances thus far. This is the joint-highest number of Championship assists that any member of Birmingham City’s squad has made this season.
Bela has also accumulated an average overall rating of 6.75 in the Championship this season. This gives Bela the eighth-highest average overall rating earned by any member of the Blues’ squad in the 2019/20 Championship campaign thus far. It may be fair to say that the deal to bring Bela to Birmingham City after the beginning of the season on a free transfer has worked out favourably for the Blues.
