Huge news breaking from Wolves with the unexpected departure of sporting director Kevin Thelwell to New York Red Bulls.
Jeff Shi: "Kevin has excelled in his role…without a doubt Kevin has fulfilled the expectations of the board and I over the last three-and-a-half years."

Respected and lauded by those who knew what he did at the club. Derided, criticised and ridiculed by those who don’t.

The news was officially broken by the Old Gold’s official website (as per Wolves), stating that the board of directors member will be leaving the club this month to move to the MLS side.
Thelwell had spent 11 years with the Old Gold in various different roles over his time with the club (as per Wolves), however, some fans were pleased to see the back of him.

What do we think?
It is fair to say that, while not all supporters are disappointed to see Thelwell leaving, to say the least, they have had a stellar past few seasons with him in the role of sporting director (as per Transfermarkt).
Hopefully, the board will appoint someone just as suitable as Thelwell who also has the backing of the fans and the club can continue to kick on in their development.
