Supporters of West Ham United have reacted to a post from the club’s official account relaying some injury news.
During his press conference on Friday, David Moyes revealed that Ryan Fredricks and Andriy Yarmolenko were not all that close to a return to match action despite the latter having done some light training (per West Ham), which had fans fuming.
Fredericks (Shoulder): “He’s damaged ligaments in his shoulder, we’re waiting on more advice on whether it is surgery or healing time.”
Yarmolenko (Thigh): “He’s done a little bit of training, but not joined any of the main sessions. He’s still a bit off from joining in.”— West Ham United (@WestHam) February 21, 2020

Should West Ham have signed a new right-back in the January transfer window?Yes, was a massive mistake not doingNo, Zabaleta is a good cover option |
While fit and available, Fredricks has been the side’s seventh-best performer in the Premier League so far this season, with a 6.77/10 average rating over 20 outings (per WhoScored).
However, the club’s Ukrainian attacker has failed to impress this season, leaving him as the Irons’ 17th-best performer of the 28 players who have featured in the league, with a 6.54/10 average rating (per WhoScored), but, fans continued to fume.
Yarmolenko was ‘a bit off’ before the injury.

Injury FC we are. Got rid of Carroll only to sign Wilshere and Yarmo who won’t have played an entire season between the two of them before they ship out of London

What do we think?
While the loss of Yarmolenko may not be too great due to his lowly ranking in the average ratings (per WhoScored), Fredricks will be a miss for Moyes, who now only has Pablo Zabaleta as an available right-back (per Transfermarkt).
Though, with a weak 6.42/10 average rating for the season so far also (per WhoScored), Zabaleta’s availability may not be much of a consolation for supporters.
