Supporters of West Ham United were left furious after quotes from David Moyes emerged on social media after the defeat to Manchester City.
Following the 2-0 loss at the Etihad Stadium, the Scottish manager was quoted as saying “there were bits of” the game “that were good”, quoted by football.london (live blog, 21:54, 19/02/2020) (via West Ham News), which had supporters furious.
Moyes: “I thought we were well organised defensively. The structure was to make it difficult for Man City. There will be very few teams come here and be open. We done a decent job, not good enough to get points but there were buts of it that were good.”

So Plan A was not to concede. After we conceded the 1st, we stuck with Plan A. After we conceded the 2nd, we stuck with Plan A.
David Moyes, tactical genius.— Jed (@Jed_rg) February 19, 2020
Utterly defeatist

Would you sack David Moyes after the defeat to Manchester City? No, he needs more timeYes, we're struggling |
Following the 2-0 defeat to Pep Guardiola’s outfit, the Hammers remained in the Premier League’s relegation zone in 18th, trailing Aston Villa by a point (per BBC).
Following Moyes’ comments at full time, though, supporters continued to voice their frustration over the former Manchester United manager’s assessment of the tie.
That is shocking.

On that basis we deserve to be relegated. We’re supposed to fight, with passion and bravery against every club. This attitude stinks

You wasn’t interested in showing intent.. How deep we defended from the first minute.. No ambition to cause them problems.. I’m sick of seeing this..

What do we think?
Having lost four, drawn two and won only one in the Premier League since Moyes’ arrival back at the London Stadium (per Sky Sports), it is easy to see where supporters’ annoyance comes from.
With table-topping Liverpool up next for the Irons on Monday (per BBC), it does not look as though things will immediately get easier for West Ham.
