Supporters of West Ham United have been reacting to a social media post from the club’s former goalkeeper, Adrian, following the defeat to Liverpool.

After Monday night’s game, the Spanish stopper shared a tweet from Liverpool’s official account and added ‘The republic of Liverpool’ following their victory over the Hammers (as per Adrian), which incensed fans.

Would you take Adrian back at West Ham over any of the club's current goalkeepers?

The 33-year-old goalkeeper spent six seasons with the Hammers, arriving from Real Betis on a free transfer in 2013 and departing for Jurgen Klopp’s Reds on a free transfer last summer (per Transfermarkt).

During his time with the club, Adrian featured in 150 games for the Irons, during which he kept 43 clean sheets (per Transfermarkt), however, supporters were disappointed with the Spaniard’s latest Twitter post.

What do we think?

Judging from the responses, it is clear to see that many West Ham supporters feel like it was a little classless of their former man to tweet following his current side’s victory over his former club.

However, it seems a little like a fuss over nothing, as Adrian makes no mention of the Hammers and only pays homage to the Reds’ impressive winning run.
