Spurs fans took to Twitter to sing the praises of Southampton’s Danny Ings after his impressive performance during the FA Cup replay on Wednesday night.

The former Liverpool and Burnley striker was a threat throughout the replay, hitting the bar (0:45) in the first half before scoring an excellent goal (1:49) to give the Saints the lead in the second half. It takes his tally to 17 for the season and with Harry Kane out injured, it seems as if a lot of Spurs fans wish they had the 27-year-old as part of the squad at the North London club.

Ings made his move from Liverpool to Southampton permanent in 2019 and has an excellent record for the Saints; scoring 25 goals in 54 appearances. The English forward will be hopeful of a call-up to Gareth Southgate’s squad after his excellent start to this campaign and it seems as if a lot of Spurs fans were very impressed with his display and goal on Wednesday night.

These Spurs fans would clearly love to have Ings in their squad but with the 27-year-old’s current form, it is difficult to see Southampton wanting to sell him anytime soon.

What do we think?

Ings is currently valued at £16.2 million (as per Transfermarkt) and would perhaps have been an excellent signing for Spurs in the January window. It will be interesting to see if any clubs take an interest in the Englishman at the end of the season.
