Spurs fans have been reacting to the news that Troy Parrott is reportedly failing to impress Jose Mourinho with his performances on the training ground.
Mourinho suggested last week that the 18-year-old is not ready for regular Premier League football, despite the injuries suffered by Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son, which was reportedly a challenge to the youngster to impress him in training, something which he is yet to do, as per the Evening Standard.
Parrott has made just two appearances for Spurs so far this season, starting in the defeat against Colchester United in the Carabao Cup earlier in the season, before coming off the bench in a 5-0 win over Burnley. Despite this, he made his debut for the Republic of Ireland senior side aged just 17 earlier this season, but it seems as if his chances at Spurs will remain limited until he can prove to Mourinho that he is ready to play.
Do you think Parrott will get his chance between now and the end of the season?
Yes
No
Reaction from Spurs fans to the latest news on Parrott can be seen in the tweets below.
Troy won’t get have many chances like this. Needs to take it!
Sonny and Kane being out should motivate him to work every hour on training ground to show he deserves a shot at being on bench or even starting games.

Apparently he has off field attitude, also mixing with the wrong people.

He should be working his socks off in training! He’s got a great chance to get regular game time with the first time! He should be the first one there and the last one to leave the training ground everyday! Come on Troy #COYS

I can’t help wondering if maybe there’s question marks over him off the field. Maybe his attitude or lifestyle, because he’s clearly rated highly enough to be in not only Jose’s thoughts, but also Poch’s when he was in charge.

Of course he has to prove himself, he can’t get it handed to him just like that

These Spurs fans seem to agree that Parrott needs to prove himself on the training ground if he wants to start playing regularly under Mourinho.
What do we think?
Hopefully, for Spurs fans, Parrott will start performing on the training pitch, as the 18-year-old has been prolific in the youth sides at the North London club and could well prove to be the man to step up in the absence of Kane and Son.
