Spurs fans have been reacting to an image of Toby Alderweireld on Twitter, which depicts the Belgian international as if he played for the North London club a long time ago.
The image, shared on Twitter by Hotspur Related, was designed by 9024 Media and shows off the 30-year-old defender as part of the club’s history. Spurs fans seem to have loved the image of the experienced defender, who has been with the North London club since signing from Atletico Madrid in 2015.
In that time, Alderweireld has gone on to make 192 appearances for the club and was named in the PFA Team of the Year in his first full season with the club in 2015/16. The former Southampton man committed his future to the club by signing a new contract earlier this year, despite supposedly being touted to other clubs during the summer transfer window.

These Spurs fans clearly enjoyed the image of Alderweireld that was posted on Twitter.
What do we think?
Depicting current players in old-style kits is a very nice concept and the image of Alderweireld looked very cool. Perhaps if the 30-year-old can enjoy another few seasons with the club, then he will be regarded as a modern club legend.
