Fans of Tottenham have been reacting to a post by Alasdair Gold, in which the journalist reveals that a loan offer has been made for Troy Parrott.
Parrott, who is an academy product of Spurs’, has only played five minutes of Premier League football in his career, having appeared as a late substitute in Tottenham’s victory over Burnley last December.
However, the 18-year-old striker has previously impressed in Tottenham’s youth sides, scoring 17 goals and providing three assists in 14 appearances for Spurs U18s, as well as four goals and one assist in 13 games for the U23 side.
With both Harry Kane and Heung-min Son facing lengthy spells on the sidelines, many Spurs fans may have expected to see Parrott make the step up to first-team football.
However, the Republic of Ireland international is yet to add to his brief experience in the senior Spurs side, and with no first-team opportunities in sight, it appears that clubs have been enquiring about the services of the Spurs youngster.
In reaction to the news, Spurs fans have taken to Twitter, with many stating their belief that Parrott needs to be playing first-team football, be it at Spurs or elsewhere.

Must be hard for him – wants to do a job for Jose in this time of need and is turned away! I don’t get it either!

We need to give him some minutes or loan him out for benefit of his development

So does he get a shot?

Use him or lose him but don’t stunt his career like KWP. Needs playing time to develop #coys

It would be better for his development than rotting in the reserves.

Dundalk are a very decent side who will play in the early qualifying stages of the champions league. It really wouldn’t be a bad move for 6 months

What do we think?
Although the £3.6 million-rated Parrott has previously posted impressive returns in Tottenham’s youth sides, he has only played a total of 582 minutes this season.
When looking at it from this point of view, it is easier to understand why Jose Mourinho believes that Parrott is not ready for the rigours of Premier League football.
