Some Southampton fans have been raving about a video of Danny Ings’ goal against Tottenham Hotspur in the recent FA Cup tie.
The English striker was on the scoresheet for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men and helped the side go 2-1 up. But the Saints weren’t to go through to the fifth round of the competition, as goals from Lucas Moura and Heung-Min Son helped Jose Mourinho’s side into the next round.
Should Ings play in the Euros for England?
No doubt about it
Not too sure yet
The club’s Twitter account posted a video of Ings’ goal and it got many Saints talking. They can’t stop watching it.
I have watched dozens of times already!

So far this season, Ings has been in impressive form for the Saints. He has made 29 appearances in all competitions for the club, racking up a tally of 17 goals and also picking up two assists for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men.
He had joined the club on a permanent basis in the summer of 2019, with Southampton shelling out a fee of £20m. He was on loan at the club last season, when he scored eight goals and picking up three assists.
What do we think?
This season has seen Ings exceed his expected-goals value by 3.79, as per Understat. This is the highest rate at which he has ever overperformed in his career in terms of goalscoring. That is a reflection of how well he has done for his club this season and Hasenhuttl seems to be bringing the best out of his finishing abilities.
