Last night, Football.london correspondent Alasdair Gold conducted a Q&A with Tottenham Hotspur fans. One of the topics Gold spoke on was the FA finally making a ruling on Dele Alli.
Earlier in the month, the English midfielder posted on Snapchat making light of the recent coronavirus outbreak.
According to Gold, the FA have charged Alli with misconduct for breaching the FA’s Rule E3.
When Gold shared this news on Twitter, many Spurs fans were left upset. They don’t understand how the FA is able to make such a ruling.
They claim that what Alli does privately should be his own concern, even if they don’t agree with the morality of his actions. One fan was annoyed at how long it has taken for the FA to provide an official ruling.
Pathetic

It was sent in a private group though. Where do the rules stand on that? He didn’t post it publicly.

Right do the Fa own dele alli, curious to see how this plays out he was on a non football break ie holiday sanctioned by the Fa not on any football duties don’t agree with it but bit confused how they have charged him

Oh great. More good news.
As I understand it, he sent it privately to a “mate” (prob ex-mate now) who then leaked it. He didn’t publicly tweet it etc
I’m not excusing what he did but how does a leaked private comment/poor taste joke bring the game into disrepute?

A bit like #VAR takes the clowns so long to make a decision pic.twitter.com/Fk13A7gAmE

Do you agree with the FA finding Dele Alli guilty?
Yes
No
Another fan admits that he won’t miss Alli’s influence on the field. He clearly hasn’t been impressed with Alli’s performances this season, despite the midfielder averaging a rating of 6.9/10 on WhoScored.
Chuck the book at him, he won’t be missed!

Only six players on Spurs have better average ratings.
What do we think?
According to Gold, the player has an opportunity to respond to the charge before March 5, 2020. It remains unclear whether the player will receive a suspension as part of the charge.
