Spurs fans were delighted to hear that Troy Parrott played no part in the Spurs U23 game on Monday night amid hopes he could feature in the FA Cup replay against Southampton on Wednesday evening.
Alasdair Gold relayed the news on his Twitter account that the 18-year-old wasn’t in the squad for the U23 fixture against Brighton, suggesting that the striker could perhaps play a part in the cup tie. Despite the long-term injury suffered by Harry Kane in January, Parrott is yet to make a start under Jose Mourinho, but fans are hopeful that Wednesday night could be his opportunity.
The Republic of Ireland international has been in excellent form for the various youth teams at Spurs, with 10 goals to his name in all competitions so far this season. With reports also circulating that the youngster is set to sign a new deal at the North London club, perhaps Spurs fans will begin to see Parrott feature in the first team much more regularly.
Do you think Parrott will play against Southampton on Wednesday?
Yes
No
Reaction from Spurs fans to Gold’s post on Parrott can be seen in the tweets below.
Bench tomorrow surely. No Kane and Sissoko already and now no Bergwijn and likely no Dele. Hope Parrott gets minutes. He could be the answer. Just hope we give him some mins to hopefully impress

Maybe Jose will stun us and he’ll start?! If Dele’s injured…

Hopefully he gets a start. I know that’s probably not going to happen, but Sonny needs a rest and with no Bergwijn, we need to give him a shot.

Must wonder what he has to do to be given minutes.

I’m really hoping this is his break through season, he has so much potential!

Please don’t get me excited. It won’t happen.

Fingers crossed he gets some game time on Wednesday. Was he the 19th man yesterday? We spotted him coming out at half time and good to see theee if not on subs bench. Needs some game time though for u23’s Or 1st team

These Spurs fans are clearly hoping to see Parrott get some game time in the FA Cup clash against Southampton on Wednesday night.
What do we think?
With Spurs also without Steven Bergwijn, perhaps we will see Parrott feature on Wednesday night, although the FA Cup is no doubt of huge importance to Mourinho, so it would perhaps be a surprise to see the 18-year-old start.
