Spurs fans were treated to a video of some of Victor Wanyama’s best moments for the North London club on Twitter this week, with many Lilywhites suggesting that he could still have a part to play under Jose Mourinho.
The video, which was originally posted by the Premier League on Twitter, before being shared with Spurs fans via LastWordonSpurs, includes the Kenyan’s wonder-goal against Liverpool from 2018. The former Southampton man has seriously struggled for game time this season, making just two substitute appearances in the Premier League.
Injuries have hampered Wanyama’s Spurs career and it was no surprise to see him close to a move away during the January transfer window though a deal was never finalised. After the video emerged on Twitter, many fans commented that they would like to see the 28-year-old back in the squad over Eric Dier, who has also struggled to find form this season; averaging a disappointing 6.53 match rating from WhoScored.
Should Wanyama be used more by Mourinho?

Such a shame how the injuries ruined him

We would be so much better with a healthy Wanyama in midfield so much better than Dier when he’s on his game. Doubt we’ll see him play again tho.

Fantastic season he had for us before that injury. Affected him even more than Sandro’s

Can’t think of a better defensive midfielder in my 40+ years of supporting Spurs than he was during that 2016/17 season.

These Spurs fans clearly rate Wanyama and feel that he could still do a job in the first team if given the opportunity by Mourinho.
What do we think?
Wanyama seriously impressed in his first season at Spurs; averaging a superb 7.21 rating for his performances in the Premier League, but the £10.8 million-rated man has struggled to maintain a place in the first-team ever since the end of the 2016/17 campaign.
