Spurs fans were treated to some footage of Japhet Tanganga from his first few appearances for the North London club.
The 20-year-old has established himself as a regular in Jose Mourinho’s side in recent weeks and has posted some impressive WhoScored match ratings since making his Premier League debut against Liverpool last month. The academy graduate suddenly looks as if he could be the man to replace Jan Vertonghen, who is out of contract in the summer.
Spurs’ official Twitter account posted a video of Tanganga, featuring some of his best moments for the first team so far, including the goal-line clearance against Liverpool and some brilliant defending to deny Manchester City’s Riyad Mahrez. The young defender is reportedly set to sign a new deal with the North London club and could well be a regular under Mourinho for some time to come.
Should Tanganga continue to be a regular starter under Mourinho?
Reaction from Spurs fans to the video of Tanganga can be seen in the tweets below.

One Spurs fan even compared him to former star Ledley King, who made 317 appearances for the North London club, as well as donning the captain’s armband.
Exciting player and Spurs have a few at the moment. Carries on like he has and we have a new Ledley King. Tanganga will rule.

These Spurs fans clearly enjoyed the video of Tanganga and will surely be hoping that the 20-year-old signs a new contract with the club in the near future, based on these replies.
What do we think?
Tanganga looks to have cemented a place in the Spurs first team and if his first few performances are anything to go by, then the North London club certainly looks to have a serious talent on their hands.
