Spurs fans were delighted to hear that Japhet Tanganga is in talks to sign a new contract with the North London club.
According to Mail Sport (via Daily Hotspur), the 20-year-old defender could see his wage increased from £1,000 a week to £15,000 a week should he sign the new deal. The academy product has established himself as a regular in Jose Mourinho’s side of late, so it is no surprise to see the club keen to tie him down to a better and longer deal.
Tanganga perhaps first caught the eye of fans with his performances in the pre-season tour of Asia, most notably when he was tasked with marking Cristiano Ronaldo in a game against Juventus. However, he was limited to just one senior appearance in the Carabao Cup under Mauricio Pochettino before a superb Premier League debut against Liverpool has seen him win over Mourinho and fans alike.
Do you think Tanganga should be offered more than £15k a week?

These Spurs fans clearly feel that Tanganga deserves even more than £15,000 a week but will be hoping that he accepts the reported contract offer as soon as possible.
What do we think?
Tanganga is only 20-years-old and £15,000 a week is an extraordinary amount of money for someone for so young. Spurs should keep him grounded and not think about offering him silly money until he well and truly establishes himself as a key player in Mourinho’s side.
