Spurs fans have been reacting to a stat involving themselves and Manchester City following the 2-0 win over Pep Guardiola’s side on Sunday.
A stat which was originally posted by Colin Millar on Twitter, before being shared with Spurs fans via Daily Hotspur, shows that the North London club have taken five shots against Manchester City this season, scoring four goals. The Citizens, meanwhile, have taken 44 shots against Spurs and scored just twice.
This has understandably amused a lot of Spurs fans, who would perhaps admit that they were second-best to Pep Guardiola’s side on Sunday, but came out on top thanks to second-half goals from Steven Bergwijn and Heung-Min Son. Earlier in the season, Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham snatched a 2-2 draw against City thanks to goals from Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura.

Not really anything to be proud of! Just shows how far behind we are falling.

interesting numbers but it shows the huge difference between teams with a game giving scoring chances and ours. I’m happy with the victory but absolutely not the game again. Come on @SpursOfficial you can do better #football #PremierLeague

Some of these Spurs fans were clearly amused by the statistic, whilst others were perhaps slightly concerned by Manchester City’s dominance over the two games, despite the results.
What do we think?
Manchester City missed a whole host of chances in Sunday’s game and perhaps would have gone on to win the game had they capitalised on their dominance in the first half. At the end of the day, the only stat that matters is the final score and Spurs were the ones to claim all three points.
