Spurs fans have been reacting to Tim Sherwood’s remarks about Jose Mourinho’s tactics during the 2-1 defeat against Chelsea last weekend.
Speaking to Premier League productions, the former manager, who was in charge of Spurs between for a brief stint in the 2013/14 season, slated the Portuguese manager’s set-up following the game at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. He said: “Tottenham were disgusting, so bad and the negative approach. You have to find a different way. You can’t say ‘we don’t have a striker’ and throw the towel in. If you offered Jose a 0-0 beforehand, he would’ve taken your arms off.” per Standard Sport (via COYS.com)
Goals from Olivier Giroud and Marcus Alonso secured the win for Frank Lampard’s side, before a late consolation courtesy of an Antonio Rudiger own goal. Mourinho’s side mustered just three shots on target during Saturday’s game, suggesting that Sherwood is not too far off in his suggestion that the North London side would have settled for a draw.

Ah the great mind of Tim Sherwood piping up, didn’t he stick Kyle walker midfield when we got absolutely pumped by Chelsea?

I would have taken the 0-0

These Spurs fans are seemingly split by Sherwood’s comments, with some agreeing that Mourinho’s set up was poor, whilst others reminded him that he lost 4-0 at Chelsea during his time as Lilywhites boss.
What do we think?
Of course, it is a struggle for Spurs at the moment considering the injuries to Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son but they will need to improve in future showings if they are to have any hope of still finishing in the top-four spots.
