Spurs fans were delighted to hear that Troy Parrott has signed a new deal at the club until 2023.
The club confirmed on Friday that the 18-year-old has signed a contract until the end of the 2022/23 season, news that has delighted fans on Twitter. The Republic of Ireland international has made just two senior appearances for the Lilywhites, but the new contract could well result in an increase in playing time for the youngster.
Parrott has been prolific for the youth sides at Spurs, scoring 17 goals in just 15 appearances for the U18s and recently earned his first cap for the Republic of Ireland in a 3-1 win over New Zealand. With Harry Kane set to be out injured until April, Spurs fans may now start to see a lot more of the academy product in Mourinho’s first team.

These Spurs fans are clearly delighted with the news on Parrott and will be hoping to see a lot more of the youngster now that he has committed his future to the club.
What do we think?
It is great news for Spurs that they have managed to extend Parrott’s contract with the club and perhaps ward off any potential suitors for the 18-year-old. It will be interesting to see if Mourinho gives the Republic of Ireland international an opportunity to impress in the Premier League now.
