Spurs fans were frustrated to hear that Erik Lamela has picked up an injury, which saw him omitted from the squad that beat Southampton 3-2 on Wednesday night.
Alasdair Gold confirmed on Twitter that the Argentinian international would miss the game through a groin injury, which has led to a lot of fans criticising the 27-year-old. The former Roma man has already been sidelined significant portion of this season through injury problems; missing 12 games between October and December due to a hamstring injury.
Despite joining in 2013, Lamela has featured just 209 times for the North London club, with injuries preventing the winger from ever really enjoying a strong run in the side. Whilst fans will be hoping that this injury proves to be a minor one, a lot of fans seem fed up with his lack of appearances and feel that Mourinho should cash in on the £19.8 million-rated man (as per Transfermarkt) in the summer transfer window.
Should Spurs sell Lamela?

L incoming. Literally short of 4 attacking players. Great. Lamela plays 20 min gets injured. Must be sold now. Enough of this

One fan even suggested he is another Jack Wilshere. This relates to the Englishman’s poor injury record throughout his career, with injuries constantly halting his progress.
Here we go again with the injury prone LAMELA! – He comes on for 20 mins against City – then he is injured again = Unbelievable!!
It really is a life of injury for him – And it will never change – Another Jack Wilshire!— Bazzabee (@Bazzabee4) February 5, 2020

These Spurs fans are clearly not too happy to hear that Lamela is injured again, with many suggesting that Mourinho should move him on.
What do we think?
It is difficult to judge Lamela until we know the full extent of his latest injury. If he recovers quickly and gets himself back into the team then perhaps Spurs should give him another chance, but if he misses another few months then it may well be best to try and sell him in the summer.
