Spurs fans were delighted to hear that Harry Kane is expected to start running outdoors next month and is on course to return for the final few weeks of the season.

According to the Daily Mail (via Daily Hotspur), the 26-year-old striker has travelled to the Caribbean to complete a warm-weather training programme following surgery on his injured hamstring. The England captain has been missing for Spurs since suffering the injury in the New Year’s Day defeat to Southampton, with some reports suggesting that he could be a doubt for the European Championships in the summer.

However, this latest update suggests that he could be back fit to help Spurs out for the final few weeks of the season and could, therefore, be fit to play for Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions during the summer. Spurs failed to bring in a striker to replace Kane during the transfer window, so there is arguably more pressure on the forward to return and continue his goalscoring form from earlier in the season, with the 26-year-old having hit 17 goals for the North London club in all competitions this campaign.

Do you want to see Kane back before the end of the season?

Reaction from Spurs fans to the update on Kane can be seen in the tweets below.

Of course, Spurs’ failure to sign a striker makes Kane’s potential return even more exciting, with him possibly being able to aid Spurs’ pursuit of a top-four spot. He’s produced 32% of the Lilywhites’ goals in the Premier League this season, so it’s clear to see just how crucial he is.

These Spurs fans are clearly delighted with the update on Kane and will be hoping to see him back fully fit as soon as possible.

What do we think?

Kane will be desperate to be fit for the Euros but he shouldn’t rush himself back and cause himself further damage. It seems like he needs a long rest and missing the end of the season might just be the best thing in the long-term.
