Spurs fans were treated to a video of Christian Eriksen smashing the bar with an unbelievable free-kick from Sunday’s Milan derby.
The video, which was originally posted by Internazionale.fr on Twitter (via TranSPURS), shows the Danish international coming extremely close to netting his first goal for the club, as his free-kick came off the underside of the bar. Eriksen joined Antonio Conte’s side during the January transfer window and made his third appearance in Italy during the 4-2 win over AC Milan on Sunday.
The 27-year-old is yet to make a strong impression on Inter fans, having produced disappointing displays so far in his time in Italy (with an average WhoScored match rating of 6.56), but was close to winning over fans with his effort against their famous rivals at the weekend. The former Ajax man had started the season just as poorly with Spurs, averaging a 6.51 rating in the Premier League – though surely it is only a matter of time before Eriksen begins to show Inter fans some of the form he has shown in previous seasons with the North London club.
Do you want Eriksen to succeed with Inter?

Prime Eriksen there. Too bad we haven’t seen that for quite some time.

Would have been a nice goal had it gone in. Except for that he was poor.

Apart from missing that free kick what else did he do?
— James (@OldManHotspur) February 10, 2020
I know, right!? He cleared the first man by about 3 metres. Unbelievable
— adam kinsley (@adamkinsley) February 10, 2020
Wow he actually cleared the 1st man….. never to be seen again

These Spurs fans were clearly shocked to see Eriksen nearly score a free-kick, despite the 27-year-old’s final goal for Spurs being such an effort against Norwich City in December.
What do we think?
It was nearly an unbelievable goal by Eriksen and it was a shame that it bounced out rather than going in off the crossbar. You would imagine that as the Danish international begins to adapt to Italian football, he will eventually be a worthy contributor as Conte’s side look to claim the Serie A title.
