Spurs fans have been discussing Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes following the Portuguese international’s start to life in the Premier League.
The North London club were regularly linked with the former Sporting Lisbon man throughout the summer and January transfer windows but he opted to join the Red Devils during last month’s transfer window.
The 25-year-old has seriously impressed in his performances since; averaging an 8.01 rating for his three appearances in the Premier League, and produced another strong display in United’s 5-0 win over Club Brugge in the Europa League earlier this week.
This led to Spurs fan and Sky Sports presenter Michael Bridge tweeting out to say how much he regrets the North London club not signing the creative midfielder during last year’s summer transfer window.
Who signed the better player?
Manchester United (Fernandes)
Spurs (Lo Celso)
Reaction from Spurs fans to Bridge’s post can be seen in the tweets below, with one fan even suggesting Daniel Levy had produced another ‘shocker’ when it comes down to missing out on transfer targets, perhaps with the news that the club missed out on Jack Grealish because of the chairman’s alleged stubbornness and refusal to splash the cash (per The Daily Mail).
Agreed would’ve been an ideal replacement for the outgoing Eriksen.

Like i said in the summer, he would of been perfect as the passer in the double pivot role Jose implements !
People laughed and said it’s the Portuguese league.

These Spurs fans clearly agree that they missed out on Fernandes and perhaps wish the club had acted more decisively during last summer’s window.
What do we think?
It is still early days but Fernandes already looks to have impressed a lot of fans with his performances and he could have proved to be the ideal man to replace Christian Eriksen, who, of course, joined Inter during the January transfer window.
