Last week, Sheffield United announced the signing of Sander Berge from Genk. While the fee was undisclosed, the club have confirmed that the sum smashed their previous transfer record to bring the Norwegian to Bramall Lane. This week, the club published a video showing behind-the-scenes footage of the signing.
While the deal originally seemed to be a last-minute rush, the video shows how cool, calm and collected Chris Wilder was during the proceedings. The video shows the gaffer giving his new player a tour around Sheffield, as well as welcoming Berge to the club. It was a great clip that showed the human element of signing a new recruit. Fans loved watching Wilder work his magic. One even suggests that he is the perfect players’ manager.
Proper genuine bloke is Wilder. Loved the mini guided tour

@64Shergar Simply the greatest manager this club has ever had. It doesn’t matter if you’re the cleaner or the main boy, treated with the same respect, just how it should be. Proper club, proper manager. Oh and this media team aren’t bad either.. @TDXCampbell #twitterblades

Properly good this. The grounded and down to earth approach, making him feel one of the family as quickly as possible, no diva treatment and a guided tour by the gaffer. I love this club

Do you think Wilder is the reason the players work so hard in games?
Yes

No

What do we think?
The footage, while unlikely to have an impact on in-game performances, is a great insight for fans. It shows the supporters exactly what Wilder does to get the players at Sheffield United fighting for the badge.
