A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to Craig Hope’s tweet about an incident that happened on a train from Kings Cross to Newcastle.
A video emerged online of some angry Newcastle fans (Top of the page) questioning Danny Rose, Christian Atsu, Allan Saint-Maximin, and Nabil Bentaleb after the Toon collapsed in the second half of their match with Arsenal – to leave the Emirates on the receiving end of a 4-0 defeat.
Was this is the right thing to do?
Yes, they deserved to know how poor they were
No, not the time or place
The Daily Mail reporter tweeted that the players chose to take the train because they did not want to fly back amid a storm, and the four players in question did nothing wrong.
Certainly, some Toon fans believe this and feel that the supporters who approached the players were in the wrong.
The four NUFC players on train back to Newcastle yesterday were sitting quietly when one fan approached them & gave them stick while another took video. World we live in at times, sadly. Players did nothing wrong. They were on train because they didn’t want to fly amid the storm. https://t.co/fy0N1zIbuO

Some of our fans are a disgrace at times. The players were woeful yesterday but the stone island crew don’t help hurling abuse at them sitting on a train.

Tough game – granted! But I’d love to see how these belters would react if we turned up and slagged them off about their work performance! #plasticfans #thickasmince #nufc

It’s one thing on the field but another off it. Leave them alone!

The players were sitting quietly. Hopefully, thinking about the loss & how to play better next game. Don’t blame them for not wanting to fly. They’re still @NUFC players. Support the players. They don’t have a say in a lot that is going on with the club. #NUFC #ToonArmy

Other Newcastle fans, though, think the players deserved the stick they got.
Hold on a minute Craig I’ve seen the video, the lad in question wasn’t shouting wasn’t screaming he was extremely calm and told them it wasn’t good enough and he was right. Unlike you who gets paid to follow football, these lads use their hard earned wages to follow their Club.

Players deserved it! Bottlers…and as for these 4, questionable characters!

People pay a lot of money to travel all over the country to watch them there Entitled to have a go or opinion on game

What do we think?
Newcastle believe that Rose, Bentaleb, Saint-Maximin, and Atsu did nothing wrong, and they will not be taking any further action.
The Toon fans in question might have been frustrated, but perhaps questioning the players on a train home was not the best thing to do.
