A lot of Newcastle United fans have offered their thoughts on the latest takeover story in the Newcastle Chronicle.
The piece written by Mark Douglas claims that the Premier League has not received any warning that the Toon might about to be taken over.

The piece then focuses on a podcast released by the Wall Street Journal about Carla DiBello’s involvement (via the WSJ podcast) in the proposed takeover.
However, these Toon fans do not believe anything to do with the takeover and have dismissed any possibility of Mike Ashley leaving anytime soon.
There’s been no breakthrough in talks between United and any potential buyer as of this week, and the Premier League have received no advance warning of an imminent change of ownership. #NUFC https://t.co/W9hIhxj0bL

After this weekend’s performance, we’d have to pay someone to take it away for scrap… #nufc

Because the takeover is not going to happen. We are doomed forever in a pact between BRUCE and Ashley. Are NUFC the only club to spend £40M on a striker who can’t score?

Could the fact that there was never any potential buyer and never any talks to begin with be the reason?

And there’s me thinking it was 90% done.

What do we think?
Since the Wall Street Journal broke the latest Newcastle takeover story, everything has gone quiet, and this latest update confirms that the Premier League are not expecting anything soon, either.
The most pressing thing for Newcastle fans should be their club’s form in the Premier League.
Defeat on Saturday to Crystal Palace made it one league win in nine, and Steve Bruce’s men have failed to score in the league since they drew 2-2 with Everton in mid-January.
Therefore, their current bad form could be considered to be more important than any takeover update.
