A lot of Newcastle United fans have responded to Luke Edwards’ latest tweet as he believes that criticism from some Toon fans towards Steve Bruce has gone too far.
The Daily Telegraph reporter produced a piece about how Newcastle are not as bad as some say they are and the fact that they have 31 points and could be into the fifth round of the FA Cup cannot be ignored.
Have Newcastle had a good season?
Yes
No
This caused a debate on Twitter between Edwards and many fans as they think he is just defending Bruce because he is his mate.
Certainly, these Newcastle supporters believe that Edwards has now lost the plot.
I’ll say it again and if you get upset, pause for a moment. This season reminds me of the time Robson’s #nufc we’re booed by fans and criticised by journalists for finishing 5th. It wasn’t good enough, it was a failure, a disgrace. I will defend club’s fans to a point, not this

Youv lost the plot you like ???????????????????
— Sam Storey (@SamualStorey) February 3, 2020
This is getting ridiculous now Luke. Bruce has maintained what Benitez created and we’ve lost any idea we had on how to score goals. He’s done better than expected, granted, but the way you keep dressing this up is delusional and starting to pull into question any biases you have.

You can’t be serious with this one?

This is just getting silly now. You’re almost sounding like a parody account…

You have lost it Luke. This is despicable, low grade stuff. Funny how the mind works when it becomes trapped with a bias

This has got to be the finest piece of attention seeking I’ve ever seen ??

What do we think?
The Toon are in a good position and have achieved some good results this season having beaten the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Chelsea. However, they have only scored 24 goals and have also failed to beat the Norwich City, Burnley, Aston Villa and Watford.
It seems that some fans are not entertained but the results are decent.
What would fans really prefer to stay in the Premier League but be boring to watch or to play open and expansive football but get relegated?
Newcastle should focus on safety this season then next year look to be more expansive.
