Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to criticise Divock Origi’s performance in their Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid.
This comes after Jurgen Klopp’s side fell to a 1-0 loss against Diego Simeone’s side with a goal from Saul Niguez making the difference between the two teams.
During the match, it was Liverpool’s Belgian attacker that caught the attention of the Reds fans for all the wrong reason.
When the match ended, many Liverpool fans took the time to share their criticism of Origi on Twitter.
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans slating Origi:
Divock Origi I know you’ve scored some critical goals for us but you are an absolute pony, I would love to know how are you a go to option in games

Origi just not good enough

Divock Origi only performs in CL semis and the final. Abysmal tonight

The Belgian, who is valued at £18 million (as per Transfermarkt), was substituted into the match to replace Sadio Mane at half time. Origi’s second-half performance earned him a match rating of 6.5 according to WhoScored.
Did Jurgen Klopp make the right decision to bring Origi on for Mane at half time?
Yes
No
After failing to make an impact on the scoreline, Origi’s second-half cameo then opened the door for lots of Liverpool fans to share their negative thoughts and opinions on the player.
Hope Klopp knows Origi needs to be sold in summer. He has given us his best and thats it.

Origi was shocking tonight

Unpopular opinion. Origi isn’t good enough. He played a great cameo last year. Legendary. But we need a decent fourth option away from Mane, Salah and Firmino. #LFC #ATMLIV

What do we think?
It’s a shame that these Liverpool fans decided to take the time to criticise Origi for his performance in the defeat. But with a second leg match at Anfield against the Spanish side in the near future, the fans will be hoping that Origi and the rest of the team can turn the scoreline around in their favour and progress in the tournament.
