Liverpool fans have been reacting on Twitter to recent comments made by Napoli’s Lorenzo Insigne.
This comes after Liverpool fan Twitter account @empireofthekop shared a post on their page that included an article from their website on Insigne’s words.
In an interview with Sky Sports Italia as translated by the Daily Mail, the Italian claimed his side as Liverpool’s bogey team after earning a win and a draw in their Champions League clashes earlier this season.
Are Napoli Liverpool's bogey team?
Yes
No
This post then gathered a number of replies from Liverpool fans who were eager to have their say on the matter.
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans replying to the post:
Napoli always seem to pull out incredible performances against us ? #LFC https://t.co/8pfIWdbrVQ

They’re the Crystal Palace of Europe. Can’t stand playing them.

That was when Ancelotti was around

We better not get them next year

In the two Champions League group fixtures between the two side, Liverpool failed to beat the Italian side in either match, suffering a 2-0 defeat in the away match and drawing 1-1 at Anfield (per Transfermarkt).
Now that Insigne has recently spoken about the Reds and the two results earlier in the season, this has paved the way for numerous Liverpool fans to have their say on the 28-year-old’s words.
I wouldn’t say incredible but I do recall knocking them out too

They have a really good side should be doing better tbh. When they play us they try there best and live up to there potential

At this point, they can’t beat anyone in their own league so I guess they need something to hang their hat on.

What do we think?
Given the results that Napoli have taken from Liverpool in the Champions League this season, it would be fair of Inisgne, who is valued at £54 million (as per Transfermarkt), to think that his team have had an effect on Jurgen Klopp’s side this season.
