Liverpool fans have been reacting on Twitter to comments made by RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann on Timo Werner’s potential move to Anfield.
This comes after Liverpool fan account @AnfieldWatch shared a post on their Twitter page relaying comments made by Nagelsmann to Sport Bild (via the Liverpool Echo).
The Leipzig boss claimed that Werner would “not get the status” at Liverpool that he currently has at the Bundesliga club before adding that it would be “more difficult” for the striker to play for the Reds than Leipzig.
Would Werner be an automatic starter for Liverpool next season?
Yes
No
This post then gathered a number of replies from Liverpool fans who were quick to share their thoughts on Nagelsmann’s comments.

If timo backs his own ability then he won’t be worried about not getting in the team straight away. As for status, we have the current best center back, wingers, fullbacks, and goalkeeper itw, they all earned that status at Liverpool football club.

Wouldn’t a ‘good’ player be able to break into the 1st team?

Sounds like the Coutinho situation before he left. The different is Werner will be quickly embrace by the fans whether he plays or not. He is not the final product yet. Klopp will build him more then ever and whatever that status at RBL will be surpassed.

The Leipzig striker has been in hot form this season having scored 26 goals in 32 appearances in all competitions for the German side. Werner is currently valued at £67.5 million, according to Transfermarkt. Now that his current manager Nagelsmann has come out and commented on a potential move to Anfield for Werner, many Liverpool fans have been having their say on the situation on Twitter.
Of course it will be difficult for him, he is coming to play for the best team in the world. He should not expect to be an automatic starter in the team.

What do we think?
It sounds like Nagelsmann is trying to deter Werner from leaving Leipzig for Liverpool. Taking into consideration his fantastic goalscoring record this season, it’s understandable why Nagelsmann would want to keep hold of him.
