This comes after Liverpool news Twitter account @LivEchoLFC shared a post on their official Twitter page that included an article from the Liverpool Echo about the Frenchman’s time as a Reds player.
Was Mamadou Sakho a flop for Liverpool?
Yes, he was awful
No, he did alright
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Liverpool fans who were eager to share their thoughts and opinions on Sakho’s period at Anfield.
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans discussing Sakho:
The peak and then downward spiral of his #LFC career all happened within a few weeks of each other in April 2016https://t.co/YWYxa3WHN2

The 30-year-old signed to the Merseyside club back in 2013 from French side Paris Saint-Germain for a fee of £17.10 million (per Transfermarkt). After making 80 appearances for the Reds, Sakho left the club in 2017 to fellow Premier League side Crytal Palace for a fee of £25.38 million. Now that an article from the Liverpool Echo has emerged discussing Sakho’s time at the club, lots of Liverpool fans have taken the opportunity to share their own feelings on the defender’s tenure at the club.
The fist bump with Benteke when Crystal Palace scored at Anfield sealed it for me. His short legacy gone. And I have no sympathy.

It all went wrong when he got banned from the Europa League Final and we lost. Until then he showed a brilliant attitude but sadly he was not a player who was capable of playing at the very highest level and lost the trust, quite rightly of Jurgen. Football is fickle #lfc

Awful player, never good enough in a million years…

What do we think?
It’s a shame that these Liverpool fans don’t have positive feelings for Sakho after the defender spent three seasons at the club. But at least the club made a profit on his transfer fee to Crystal Palace from what they paid Paris Saint-Germain for his services.
