Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to discuss striker Divock Origi.
This comes after Liverpool journalist Joel Rabinowitz shared a post on their official page that included an article on the Belgian and his current use in the team.
Rabinowitz called Jurgen Klopp’s continuous decision to play Origi as a winger instead of a centre-forward is an “on-going conundrum with no obvious answers.”
What is Divock Origi's best position?

This post then gathered a lot of replies from Liverpool fans who were keen to have their say on the Belgian, who is currently valued at £18 million according to Transfermarkt.
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans responding to the post:
Origi clearly isn't a winger, but Klopp appears hesitant to use him as a centre forward, perhaps because his style is so drastically different to Firmino that it disrupts the system. An ongoing conundrum with no obvious answers. https://t.co/YtoPtzNv17

And yet he was so effective there as recently as the game against Everton. Not sure what more evidence Klopp is looking for.

Often times Klopp’s formation is predictable. The Everton game was a rarity. I think Origi is wasted on the left. If you’re bringing him on late, stick him in the middle and change the formation around him instead.

Klopp wants pace wide and he brings that. He plays bes with mane and Shaq as they are natural widemen who complement him nicely

The 24-year-old has made 130 appearances for Liverpool since his arrival in 2014, scoring 33 goals and providing 12 assists. Origi’s 32 appearances for the Reds in all competitions so far this season has seen the Belgian occupy the left-wing and centre-forward positions (per Transfermarkt). Now that the question has been raised about Klopp’s decision to swap where Origi plays regularly, this has sparked a big debate on Twitter.
Sums up the issues. We might be winning the PL but Origi Shaq have contributed next to nothing. If the front 3 is injured or have off days (increasingly these days) there is no one to change the course of game. Next season defo need to refresh.Front 3, FBs being run into ground

Origi is perfect as a back up player, doesn’t whinge as doesn’t play most of the time. He’ll never be number one forward as I don’t think he’ll ever get to that level anywhere let alone liverpool. But he deserves a lot of praise because he’s been fantastic for the club

What do we think?
According to Transfermarkt, Origi has made 18 appearances on the left-wing, scoring three goals and providing three assists. Whereas in his 12 appearances as a centre-forward, he has scored two goals and provided just one assist. It’s useful to have a squad player that is capable of playing in multiple positions that can provide sufficient cover, but maybe now is the time for Origi to stick to just one position consistently.
