Liverpool fans have flocked to Twitter to share their criticisms for Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone.
This comes after Liverpool journalist Chris Bascombe shared a post on his official Twitter page praising the Madrid boss.
Bascombe claimed that “Simeone is what Mourinho used to be. Might not like playing against him, but you have to admire him.”
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Liverpool fans who did not share the same sentiments on the Argentine as Bascombe.
Would you want Diego Simeone as Liverpool manager one day?
Yes
No
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans slamming Simeone:
Simeone is what Mourinho used to be. Might not like playing against him, but you have to admire him,

Nah I won’t admire anyone playing anti football and play acting.

Admire what how not to play football. His only tactic is to cheat and defend. I wouldn’t want him anywhere near my club. Madrid are not all that we’ll take them apart at anfield

Simeone’s side grabbed a 1-0 win against the reigning Champions League holders in Madrid on Tuesday. According to WhoScored, Atletico’s style of play involves stealing the ball from the opposition, holding onto leads and winning aerial duels. These factors can make it very hard for teams such as Liverpool to play well and get a result against them, as they failed to do in midweek. Now that Bascombe has shared his admiration for the Atletico boss, not all Liverpool fans have been feeling the same way.
High standards Burnley that’s all

He’s nothing but a clown.

What do we think?
In the aftermath of their defeat in Madrid, you could possibly chalk off this criticism for Simeone as still being upset over the defeat. But if these Liverpool fans genuinely don’t enjoy the style of football that Simeone has his team playing, then that just shows how well his tactics worked in the match.
