Liverpool were desperately unlucky to miss out on the Premier League title last season having accumulated 97 points, but remarkably they’ve managed to maintain their impeccable standards and as a result, they’re closing in on the crown with ease this time around.
Within Jurgen Klopp’s side, there are a number of standout candidates for their player of the year but these Reds fans in particular don’t believe the prize should go to reigning PFA Player of the Year Virgil van Dijk. When @AnfieldEdition asked their followers who would get their pick on , another name dominated the replies.
Does Sadio Mane deserve to be crowned Liverpool's player of the year?

Mané, he single handedly got us through so many sticky games this year.

What do we think?
The Senegalese forward has scored 11 goals and provided eight assists in just 22 Premier League games this season. He’s been one of the team’s most consistent performers, boasting an average performance rating of 7.5/10 (via WhoScored.com).
Whilst Van Dijk and others have also been sensational (with eight others having an average rating north of 7/10), we can see why these supporters would prefer to see the award handed to their dynamic left-winger.
