Liverpool fans have flocked over to Twitter to criticise Mohamed Salah for his performance in the Reds’ Champions League defeat against Atletico Madrid.
This comes after the Egyptian put in a poor performance in Liverpool’s 1-0 defeat to Diego Simeone’s side in Madrid in their campaign to regain the Champions League title.
After the match, Salah’s performance was a hot topic for conversation on Twitter, with lots of Liverpool fans making the decision to share their criticism for the winger’s display.
Was Mohamed Salah Liverpool's worst performer against Atletico?
Yes
No
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans slating Salah:
Salah way off his usual game again! He has been really poor recently imo needs to be dropped for a few games.

Salah has been poor for a while his energy is good but everything else has been bad

The Egyptian played 73 minutes of the match in Madrid before being swapped for the oncoming Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Salah’s performance in the match earned him a match rating of 5.9, the lowest of any player on the pitch (per WhoScored). This disappointing display caught the attention of lots of Liverpool fans who were not shy in making their feelings known on Twitter.
Gotta give Atleti credit. That was the only way they were going to get a result. We were quite poor tho. Trent, VVD, and Salah particularly poor I felt.

Salah’s been a disgrace

I hate to admit it but Salah is finished

What a dog of a performance. I’m still trying to wrap my head around Salah being so poor that he came off at 71. Trent couldn’t hit a boat. Virgil was sloppy. Fabinho poor. We got Atletico’d.

Our midfield is poor. So defensive and lack of creativity. Need a full on striker too. Klopp needs to improve the midfield urgently this summer
Terrible performance and another poor game by Salah.— ???????????????? (@DetJakePeralta1) February 18, 2020
What do we think?
Given how Salah has managed to earn himself a season rating of 7.40 so far this year, his latest drop in standards against Atletico is a big surprise. The hope for the Liverpool fans now is that Salah will find his form again as the Reds carry on through their season.
