Former Liverpool striker Fernando Torres is still fondly remembered by Reds fans. The Spaniard arrived with a big reputation and was an instant hit under Rafael Benitez, scoring 81 goals in 142 appearances to justify the £34.2m the club spent on bringing him to the Premier League (via Transfermarkt.co.uk).
The Spaniard shared highlights via his official Twitter account this morning, prompting some Liverpool fans to share their appreciation of the former striker in the replies.
Who would you rather have in their prime?
Torres
Suarez
Should have never left LFC.

What do we think?
Chelsea broke the British transfer record at the time (as per BBC Sport) to sign Torres from Liverpool and the move is clearly still a source of disappointment to many fans. However, during that same transfer window, the Reds were able to capture Luis Suarez from Ajax and he proved to be a more than capable replacement for the Spanish World Cup winner.
Unfortunately for Chelsea, Torres was unable to replicate his fine form at Stamford Bridge. The former Atletico Madrid striker scored 45 goals in 172 appearances for the Londoners – a much lesser rate than his goals ratio at Anfield. Now that the dust has settled, it’s great to see that despite the fact the player joined a direct rival, his talent and contribution to the Reds’ cause has not been forgotten.
