There is no guarantee Liverpool would be crowned Premier League champions if the season was brought to a halt by coronavirus, according to The Telegraph.  The spread of the virus has raised concerns regarding the prospect of the government cancelling all major sporting events, but it appears there is no specific regulation in place for dealing with such a scenario.

In which case, the report claims it’s likely the Premier League would be forced to undertake crisis talks in which they would need to decide whether previous results would be allowed to stand or if the season will be deemed as null and void.

How have the Liverpool fans reacted to this news?

What do we think?

At present, no decision to cancel any Premier League fixtures or have them played behind closed doors appears imminent. Therefore, in our opinion, there is no need for the Liverpool fans to begin panicking. First and foremost, it’s about the safety of the people, and if such decisions were to be taken as a precautionary measure, we would be confident the authorities would finish the championship in the fairest and least disruptive manner.
