Fans of Everton have been slating Gylfi Sigurdsson following the Toffees’ 3-2 defeat to Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.
During the outing at the Emirates Stadium, the Icelandic midfielder picked up an average, if uninspiring, 6/10 performance rating (as per Liverpool Echo), leaving supporters to criticise the 30-year-old (via The Gwladys Street).

He’s turned out to be a downgrade on Ross Barkley, and that’s saying something

Who is the better midfielder out of Gylfi Sigurdsson and Ross Barkley?Gylfi SigurdssonRoss Barkley |
Over the duration of the Premier League season, Sigurdsson has been the Toffees’ 10th-best performer, with an average rating of 6.72/10, on a par with Brazilian winger Bernard (as per WhoScored).
Though, his goal involvements return has been poor, with two goals and two assists over 27 games in all competitions (as per Transfermarkt), leaving many supporters frustrated.
Would be this funny if it wasn’t us that had paid it. Seeing as it was, it’s just embarrassing…..

He needs to go in the summer.

He had 1 or 2 good seasons but he’s just shocking now.

What do we think?
Judging from the responses of many supporters, it is clear to see that the Everton fanbase is losing its patience with Sigurdsson and will be baying for his sale come the summer.
However, while his goal involvements return has been some way short of fantastic with just four (per Transfermarkt), his average rating of 6.72/10 would suggest that he is a useful player (per WhoScored).
