Supporters of Everton have been discussing how Andre Gomes would fit into Carlo Ancelotti’s 4-4-2 system due to his impending return from injury.
The question was posed to supporters on Thursday morning by the Liverpool Echo, to which many felt the answer was a very simple one that required little thought.
How will he fit into Ancelotti's 4-4-2?https://t.co/U3V5egKXHX

Who would you rather have starting in midfield against Arsenal?Gylfi SigurdssonAndre Gomes |
The Portuguese 26-year-old, who is valued at £25.2 million (Transfermarkt), is edging closer to a return for the first team and earlier this week Carlo Ancelotti admitted that he thought Gomes was ready for a return (as per Everton).
However, the 60-year-old Italian did admit that he would have to have a conversation with the former Barcelona man about it (per Everton), though, supporters already know how he will fit into the side.
He’s our best player, it doesn’t matter what system unless we are gonna be Wimbledon of the 80s.

What do we think?
With a 6.4/10 average rating for the season so far making the middleman the Toffees’ 18th-best performer of the 23 players who have featured in the Premier League (per WhoScored), perhaps supporters’ faith is unfounded.
In the eight appearances Gomes made before his injury, he contributed with neither a goal nor an assist and picked up three yellow cards (per WhoScored). If the midfielder features against Arsenal, hopefully, he can improve upon that.
