Supporters of Everton have been discussing Djibril Sidibe after his performance against Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.
During the clash with Mikel Arteta’s side, the Frenchman picked up a 4/10 performance rating after being defensively exposed a number of times (per Liverpool Echo), leaving fans slating the 27-year-old online (via The Gwladys Street).
This is why you don’t spend the money on Sidibe btw.#EFC

This game actually made me see Sidibe defensive issue he lacks a lot we don’t need him we should get a new RB that has a good game reading of the match and midfielder to play with Gomes and a RM that is fast we really missed Wolcott today his speed was vital for us past games

although 12m is cheap, why buy a defender who cant defend? its a bonus that he can put a cross in i agree but first and foremost he cant defend so wouldnt pay it.

Sidibe lost his head. Schneiderlin and Sigurdsson should leave, and build a team around Gomes and Richy.
Bainesy still got it. Let’s play like the last 30 minutes every week and we’re gold.

Nice of Sidibe to throw in a all time worst performance of his career today.

Would the option to purchase fee around the £12.5-million mark be too much for Djibril Sidibe?Yes, we shouldn't be buying him at allNo, it's a great price for a good option |
Over the course of the season so far, the on-loan AS Monaco full-back has featured in 22 games in all competitions for Everton, during which he has scored zero goals and assisted five (per Transfermarkt).
So while some supporters were slating the Frenchman, with Sidibe being the Toffees’ third-best performer in the Premier League this season by earning a 7.06/10 average rating (per WhoScored), others were keen to defend the full-back.
For the money quoted he’s worth it

One mistake there and everyone drops their heads. Wheres the support from Iwobi?

What do we think?
Due to his average rating over his appearances making him the third-best performer for Everton in the Premier League this season (per WhoScored), it is hard to argue that Sidibe has not had a positive impact.
While he may be a little suspect defensively (per The Athletic), perhaps being a wing-back in a three-back formation may allow the Frenchman to flourish due to his ability in the assisting department (per Transfermarkt).
