Aston Villa fans have been responding on Twitter to the latest update on reported January transfer target Islam Slimani.
This comes after Villa fan account @Total_Villa shared a post on their Twitter page relaying information originally published by the Daily Express that Slimani didn’t want to come to Villa in January as he “didn’t want to be in a relegation fight”.
Are you glad Villa didn't sign Slimani in January?
Yes
No
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Villa fans who were not best pleased with this latest update.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans slamming Slimani:

The former Leicester City man, who is currently valued at £7.2 million according to Transfermarkt, was linked with a move to Villa Park last month to replace the currently injured Wesley. Now that the deal didn’t go through and the reason why Slimani didn’t want to come to Villa has been reported, this has paved the way for these fans to share their thoughts and criticise the striker on Twitter.
Tells you more about him than us

What do we think?
If the rumours that Slimani didn’t want to join Villa because he didn’t want to be involved in playing for a team in a relegation battle are true, then it certainly says a lot about his character as a footballer. So in that case, the Villa fans are quite right to criticise him and not want to have a striker play for them if they are not willing to fight for the club in difficult times.
