Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to respond to the latest comments made by winger Trezeguet.
This comes after the official Villa Twitter account shared a post on their page that included a video interview with the Egyptian in preparation for their Carabao Cup final clash against Manchester City this weekend.
Will Villa beat Manchester City on Sunday?
Yes
No
In the clip, Trezeguet claimed that the team will “fight together” to beat Pep Guardiola’s side at Wembley.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Villa fans who were not overly impressed with Trezeguet’s comments.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans replying to the post:
"We will fight together." ?

Showed very little all season ok scored in semi but looks too slow and haven’t seen him skin any defender all season , Doesn’t track back either much like El Ghazi who just seems to put in a token effort week in week out , I d put the young kid in at 16 he can’t do any worse

Showed very little fight in league so let’s hope the team can do it for a one off game ??

The winger, who is currently valued at £9 million according to Transfermarkt, scored the winning goal in Villa’s second-leg semi-final clash against Leicester City back in January to set up Dean Smith’s side in the final. Now as the showdown with Manchester City approaches, Trezeguet’s latest comments on the final have not hit home with these Villa fans.
About time you all showed some fight

Evidence of that so far is non exsistent

Sick of hearing him saying ‘fight ‘fight together’ etc you’ve shown no fight all season, just bottle.

What do we think?
It seems a bit harsh to pick on Trezeguet when all he’s trying to do is drum up a bit of positivity, confidence and belief in the fans and the team that they can win the Carabao Cup this weekend. But when the team are currently hovering over the relegation zone in the Premier League with more goals conceded that any other team, it’s understandable why some fans aren’t totally taken with Trezeguet’s rallying cry.
