Aston Villa fans have been reacting on Twitter to the latest injury update regarding defender Tyrone Mings.
This comes after the official Aston Villa Twitter account shared a post on their page relaying quotes made by Dean Smith on Mings.
Smith revealed that Mings returned to training on Wednesday before calling the Englishman a “big player” that has “the qualities to be a real leader” for the team.
Should Mings play alongside Engels against Southampton?
Yes
No
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Villa fans who were eager to share their thoughts on Smith’s statement.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans responding to the post:

The 26-year-old, who is currently valued at £25.2 million according to Transfermarkt, was unavailable for Villa’s previous Premier League match, their 3-2 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at Villa Park due to tonsillitis. Villa narrowly missed out on a point against Jose Mourinho’s side, but Heung-Min Son managed to score injury time after a mistake from Bjorn Engels set the Spurs man up to seal all three points for the visitors.
Now that Smith has revealed that Mings is back in training ahead of Villa’s next Premier League clash against Southampton on Saturday, some Villa fans have been suggesting how Smith should set up his defence for the weekend showdown.
Mings for Hause on Saturday for me ??

Would be massive to have Ty back. Last time we played Southampton they really exploited Engels’ lack of pace

What do we think?
It’s good to see Mings back in action for Villa as they prepare for another match in the Premier League. It’s also nice to see some Villa fans hoping to see Engels keep his place in the team after his mistake last weekend. The Villa fans will now be hoping that there won’t be any more mistakes from the defenders as the club aims to avoid relegation this season.
