Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to respond to the latest tweet from Bjorn Engels.
This comes after the defender shared a post on his official Twitter account saying he was “proud” to score his first goal in the Premier League but felt “absolutely gutted” with the 3-2 result in Spurs’ favour.
Should Bjorn Engels play again for Villa?
Yes
No
This post from Engels then led to a lot of Villa fans responding with their thoughts on the 25-year-old and his performance in the defeat at Villa Park.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans reacting to the post:

The Belgian scored Villa’s second goal of the game with a headed goal in the second half of the match. However, the defender also gave away a penalty for a tackle on Steven Bergwijn that Son Heung-Min scored to put Spurs ahead. Then, to make things worse for Villa, Son scored again in the dying minutes of the match after Engels gave the ball away in his own half (per BBC Sport). Now that Engels has owned up and recognised that his mistakes cost his side the game, many Villa fans replied to his post with their support of him.
Could have hid but came on and held his hands up. Just make up for it ?

Guys, put it past you. We deserved more today. But take the positives, learn from the errors and keep playing like that and we’ll be fine. We can still do this ????? #UTV #AVFC #VTID #Believe

12 more huge games to go, we CAN do this. We all believe in you and know collectively you have what it takes in this league to survive.
If you and the lads can perform like that in all 12 games. We will stay up.
Keep the faith.

What do we think?
It’s good that Engels has come out and sent a message to the Villa fans apologising to them for his errors in the match. But it’s even better to see so many Villa fans getting behind Engels and sending him supportive and positive messages.
